活著，什麼才叫活著？我喜歡問我自己；活著，活著的意義是什麼？

寫詩，是我一輩子的志趣；所謂志趣，我認為是自始至終、一輩子都不會改變的興趣，所以寫詩，我會一直寫，一直寫......

林煥彰
1939年生，台灣宜蘭人。二十歲開始學習寫作和畫畫，從事新詩、兒童文學創作與推廣。已出版相關著作110餘種，作品譯成多種外文發表及出版，並收入新加坡、台灣、香港、澳門、中國等中小學課文和教材，以及大學、中學學測考題和近百種選集。曾獲中山文藝獎，洪建全、陳伯吹、冰心、宋慶齡等兒童文學獎及澳洲建國二百周年現代詩獎章等。曾任聯合報系北美《世界日報》和泰國、印尼《世界日報》副刊主編﹔中華民國兒童文學學會、海峽兩岸兒童文學研究會理事長及亞洲兒童文學學會台北分會會長等。2008年春，應邀擔任香港大學首任駐校作家等。
